Food, Energy, Water and Societal Systems Lincoln Public Schools Focus Program

Lincoln Public Schools and the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln have joined together for the LPS-UNL Early College and Career STEM Program. Through hands-on, immersive experiences and early college pathways, the program will prepare LPS students in the areas of food, energy, water, and societal systems, often called FEWS2 (pronounced “fuse.”) The program is designed to provide pathways for learners at LPS who are interested in FEWS2.

In this Forensic Entomology course, students will be participating in a unique learning experience, an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) called The Death of Dannie Bee. You will help fictional characters, Detective Bini Murthy and Forensic Entomologist Kyle Lawsen, with three case studies where insect evidence is crucial to helping solve the case. Students will interact with the professor and characters and collaborate with classmates throughout the course.
