Hygienic Design in Food Manufacturing Digital Badge
College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources
The Hygienic Design in Food Manufacturing badge program will be an eight-week training delivered via six self-paced modules, including a virtual synchronous recitation. This training is focused on enhancing participants’ understanding of the role hygienic design plays in ensuring food safety, as well as ensuring that participants understand how to effectively apply SSOPs and design standards in their workplaces.

IGNITE Colloquium
Hixon-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts
IGNITE is a colloquium for all Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts students, which will involve guest lectures, workshops and seminars around creative development (aesthetics, design, skills, playtesting, analysis, project management, producing, storytelling, etc.) and professional development (strengths, branding, entrepreneurship, pitching, resumes, portfolios, mental and personal health, industry overview, etc.). These colloquiums will be open to the entire university community, as well as the public.

Immigration Clinic

The Immigration Clinic provides students with an intensive, year-long experience working in-depth on immigration cases on behalf of low-income clients. Under the supervision of the faculty instructor, students may work on family-based immigrant cases, deportation defense, asylum cases, Special Immigrant Juvenile visa cases, and other like matters.

InFORM: Principles of Microbial Food Safety and Quality Digital Badge
College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources
InFORM, which stands for Introduction to Food Operations, Regulations, and Management, is a series of self-paced, online trainings aimed at individuals with or seeking careers in the food industry. Current trainings cover topics such as the fundamentals of food microbiology, identification of food safety hazards, and concepts in processing for safety and quality.

Intern Foundry Program
University of Nebraska—Lincoln
The Intern Foundry Program is a for-credit honors program opportunity for students to gain experience working with a local nonprofit organization in Lincoln, Nebraska. Through projects, students are paired with a nonprofit partner that helps them with marketing, fundraising, and accounting. The immersive experience is a part-time internship experience. In addition, students participate in a weekly seminar course that allows students to explore community development and social change through the lens of Lincoln. Students explore theories of social change and a range of urban issues, like housing and immigration. The program is in partnership with the Foundry, UNL Honors Program, and SLICE. The initiative sprang from the observation that student leadership development concerning complex social concerns requires integrated, sustained attention, both curricular and co-curricular.

International Quilt Museum

Located at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, the museum is a world-renowned institution that showcases the rich and diverse history of quilting. Founded in 1997, it quickly became one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive collections of quilts and related textiles, boasting more than 9,000 quilts and over 2,500 quilt-related objects.

Jazz in June

Jazz in June is an indispensable celebration that brings the community together to enjoy a distinctly American art form with a broad cultural heritage. Held every Tuesday in June in the Sheldon Sculpture Garden has become a Lincoln tradition.

Kimball Recital Hall
Hixon-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts
Kimball Recital Hall serves as the home for the Glenn Korff School of Music's concerts and recitals by faculty, students, and guest artists. It is acoustically astounding, and with 850 seats, is one of the finest concert halls in the Midwest. To provide the best possible physical setting for concerts and recitals, the building has an elliptical roof and round ceiling with an irregular surface. There is also an orchestra pit capable of accommodating a 40-member ensemble.

Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard partnered with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln to create the Kimmel Education and Research Center, an on-site facility focusing on community vitality initiatives and youth science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers.

Kit and Dick Schmoker Reading Center
College of Education and Human Sciences
The Kit and Dick Schmoker Reading Center provides reading and writing tutoring to children in the community. Tutoring is provided by UNL graduate and undergraduate students in the College of Education and Human Sciences, under the direction of UNL faculty and certified teachers. Instruction is individualized and based on assessments given by the tutors. It is our goal that each child improves his or her reading and writing skills, gains greater confidence as a reader, and establishes a love for reading.

Know Your Numbers, Know Your Options Digital Badge

This course is designed to help farmers and ranchers understand their current financial position and how big decisions like large purchases, new leases, or changes in production will affect their bottom line. Participants will work through the financial statements of a case study farm, watch pre-recorded videos, complete assignments, and participate in video chats.
