Latino Small Business Program

The Latino Small Business Program empowers immigrant entrepreneurs in Nebraska to build their own businesses. Led by Sandra Barrera, Rural Prosperity Nebraska’s statewide Latino engagement coordinator and a Colombian immigrant herself, the program offers expert guidance in Spanish. From education to hands-on advice and valuable connections, Sandra helps entrepreneurs at every step of their business journey, making their dreams a reality.

Livestock Judging Camp
Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources
This camp is geared toward youth 7-18 years of age who have an interest in competitive livestock judging. The camp covers content on all of the livestock species including cattle, hogs, sheep, and goats. Youth will learn about the priority traits that we use when evaluating livestock and gain basic knowledge of the livestock industry as it pertains to each species.
Loeffel Meat Shoppe

Located on East Campus, the Loeffel Meat Shoppe is a USDA-inspected retail meat sales operation that supports the Loeffel Meat Laboratory in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Look Who's Hatching

Look Who’s Hatching is a program available from Nebraska Extension for childcare centers, preschools, and family home programs with preschool-age children. We offer workshops and on-demand modules to support early childhood professionals' use of the program and how to implement the program's emergent curriculum. Extension staff drops off incubators, eggs, and curriculum toolkit.
Marathon Kids

Marathon Kids is a national running program designed to motivate kids by utilizing running logs, boost their activity, and introduce them to the joy of running! Nebraska Extension teamed up with Marathon Kids to bring this great program to our state through Nebraska Extension Marathon Kids (NEMK).

Marketing 411 Course
College of Business
The Marketing Capstone class works with businesses, start-ups, and nonprofits as clients to develop Marketing Plans for these clients. The students work as teams of 5 to 6 students with the client throughout a 15-week spring semester or a 5-week summer session to develop a marketing plan that can address real short term or long-term needs or opportunities for each client. Math Day
College of Arts and Sciences
Nebraska high schools are invited to join us for a day of engaging mathematics. Math Day is designed for students in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 and for exceptional students in lower grades. Math Day consists of one individual and two team mathematics competitions. The PROBE top 25 Nebraska high school students (sum of PROBE I and II) are awarded a total of $41,500 in one- or four-year scholarships to UNL.
Math in the City Course
College of Arts and Sciences
Math in the City (MATH 435) is an interdisciplinary, hands-on course in which students utilize mathematical modeling to understand current social issues of local and national interest. Participants collaborate with local organizations that provide data and act as consultants. The learning and discovery process connects academia and industry. Unlike other university-industry partnerships, the design of the projects and the choice of problems is primarily student- oriented, within a timely, "front page news" topic provided by the instructor.
Micropipette Mastery Digital Badge

Micropipettes are used daily in almost all professional laboratory environments for liquid handling and require practice to repeatedly perform accurate and precise sample dilutions and additions of standard mixtures. This course will teach you how to use a micropipette correctly, consistently, and accurately for liquid handling.

Milkweed in the Classroom

Milkweed in the Classroom provides a collection of resources designed to help students investigate the monarch butterfly migration as a locally relevant phenomenon. Through a series of standards-aligned lessons, students will ask questions, analyze available data, and construct a scientific argument to answer the guiding question, “How has the monarch migration has changed over time and why?”

The Minority Health Disparities Initiative engages stakeholders to identify critical knowledge and service gaps in communities all over Nebraska. Our team works directly with communities and researchers to develop collaborative research teams and integrates the community at every step and within every aspect of the research process. Together we build innovative projects that address these identified gaps.
