Rural Engagement and Wellness Summit

Together, we’ll focus on solutions through community collaboration, education, advocacy, data sharing, and research. The Unique and Complementary Roles of Outreach and Engagement and Extension Offices in Facilitating Engaged Scholarship

As higher education institutions deepen their commitment to community engagement and impact, Extension and Engagement leaders are reimagining how to collaborate to achieve institutional engagement goals. This webinar brings together leaders from three land-grant universities to reflect on the evolving relationship between Extension and Engagement, drawing on their personal journeys, institutional histories, and emerging opportunities for collaboration. Panelists will explore how their offices uniquely and collectively advance engagement goals, the challenges of communicating their value across campus, and the structural and cultural shifts needed to move from siloed to synergistic efforts. Participants will leave with insights into how to deepen collaboration between Extension and Engagement and prepare the next generation of engagement professionals.
MSU: Creating or Refining your Community-Engaged Learning Syllabus

MSU: Essential Elements of a Successful Broader Impacts Plan

In addition to its intellectual merits, each proposal submitted to the National Science Foundation (NSF) is reviewed according to the merits of its broader impacts (BI) plan, or the benefits of the proposed research to society. Come to this workshop to learn more about NSF’s BI criterion and major BI goals, the essential elements of a high quality BI plan, and key resources to help you develop a winning proposal.
Community-UNL Virtual Open Houses

Join us on October 22nd at 9:00 am CT / 8:00 MT or October 23rd at 2:00 pm CT / 1:00 pm MT for a gathering between UNL campus units looking for community partners to collaborate on experiential student projects, research projects, or to build relationships. This virtual open house provides the opportunity for community stakeholders to visit with multiple UNL Divisions discussing projects for spring and summer 2026 semester. UNL is hosting a series of centralized events so community members, non-profits, business owners, and government officials from across the state can attend one event and learn about all the opportunities they could host.
