Designed by Nebraska Extension, The NACO Institute of Excellence is a program of professional development for county officials. Participants will network with peers across the state as they grow leadership capacities in the roles they serve.
Intern Foundry Program
University of Nebraska—Lincoln
The Intern Foundry Program is a for-credit honors program opportunity for students to gain experience working with a local nonprofit organization in Lincoln, Nebraska. Through projects, students are paired with a nonprofit partner that helps them with marketing, fundraising, and accounting. The immersive experience is a part-time internship experience. In addition, students participate in a weekly seminar course that allows students to explore community development and social change through the lens of Lincoln.
International Quilt Museum
University of Nebraska—Lincoln
Located at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, the museum is a world-renowned institution that showcases the rich and diverse history of quilting. Founded in 1997, it quickly became one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive collections of quilts and related textiles, boasting more than 9,000 quilts and over 2,500 quilt-related objects.
Intro to Drones: Recreational Pilots
Nebraska Innovation Studio
Earn your FAA-recognized recreational drone license and take to the skies with confidence! This hands-on course introduces participants to the fundamentals of drone flight, safety protocols, and current FAA regulations. Using beginner-friendly drones, students will develop practical piloting skills through guided activities and aerial challenges. No prior experience required—just curiosity, focus, and a willingness to learn.
Jacht Agency for Business

UNL runs a competitive student-run advertising and public relations agency open to all majors. This program provides upper-level students with professional development opportunities to work with real-life clients on integrated media communications campaigns.
Jazz in June
University of Nebraska—Lincoln
Jazz in June is an indispensable celebration that brings the community together to enjoy a distinctly American art form with a broad cultural heritage. Held every Tuesday in June in the Sheldon Sculpture Garden has become a Lincoln tradition.
Kimball Recital Hall
Hixon-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts
Kimball Recital Hall serves as the home for the Glenn Korff School of Music's concerts and recitals by faculty, students, and guest artists. It is acoustically astounding, and with 850 seats, is one of the finest concert halls in the Midwest. To provide the best possible physical setting for concerts and recitals, the building has an elliptical roof and round ceiling with an irregular surface. There is also an orchestra pit capable of accommodating a 40-member ensemble.
Kimmel Extension and Research Center

Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard partnered with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln to create the Kimmel Education and Research Center, an on-site facility focusing on community vitality initiatives and youth science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers.
Kit and Dick Schmoker Reading Center
College of Education and Human Sciences
The Kit and Dick Schmoker Reading Center provides reading and writing tutoring to children in the community. Tutoring is provided by UNL graduate and undergraduate students in the College of Education and Human Sciences, under the direction of UNL faculty and certified teachers. Instruction is individualized and based on assessments given by the tutors. It is our goal that each child improves his or her reading and writing skills, gains greater confidence as a reader, and establishes a love for reading.
Know Your Numbers, Know Your Options Digital Badge

This course is designed to help farmers and ranchers understand their current financial position and how big decisions like large purchases, new leases, or changes in production will affect their bottom line. Participants will work through the financial statements of a case study farm, watch pre-recorded videos, complete assignments, and participate in video chats.
Know Your Well Project

“Know Your Well” is a collaborative citizen science program training high school students how to sample and test well water quality.
Language Fair
College of Arts and Sciences
High school students from across the state studying Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish have the opportunity to demonstrate the acquisition of language and cultural knowledge in competitive events. Students may participate in one competitive event (individual or group), PLUS either a poster OR a short film. For example, an acceptable combination would be drama + poster or poetry + film.

Latino Small Business Program

The Latino Small Business Program empowers immigrant entrepreneurs in Nebraska to build their own businesses. Led by Sandra Barrera, Rural Prosperity Nebraska’s statewide Latino engagement coordinator and a Colombian immigrant herself, the program offers expert guidance in Spanish. From education to hands-on advice and valuable connections, Sandra helps entrepreneurs at every step of their business journey, making their dreams a reality.

Livestock Judging Camp
Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources
This camp is geared toward youth 7-18 years of age who have an interest in competitive livestock judging. The camp covers content on all of the livestock species including cattle, hogs, sheep, and goats. Youth will learn about the priority traits that we use when evaluating livestock and gain basic knowledge of the livestock industry as it pertains to each species.
Loeffel Meat Shoppe

Located on East Campus, the Loeffel Meat Shoppe is a USDA-inspected retail meat sales operation that supports the Loeffel Meat Laboratory in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Look Who's Hatching

Look Who’s Hatching is a program available from Nebraska Extension for childcare centers, preschools, and family home programs with preschool-age children. We offer workshops and on-demand modules to support early childhood professionals' use of the program and how to implement the program's emergent curriculum. Extension staff drops off incubators, eggs, and curriculum toolkit.
