Nebraska Veterinary Diagnostic Center

The Nebraska Veterinary Diagnostic Center (NVDC) employs state-of-the-art testing procedures to provide disease surveillance and diagnostic services to veterinarians, livestock producers, pet owners, and researchers. NVDC is recognized nationally for its expertise in diagnosing diseases in cattle and other food animals, and is Nebraska's only veterinary diagnostic lab accredited by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians, the United States Department of Agriculture and the National Animal Health Laboratory Network.

The Nebraska Watershed Aquifer Virtual Education System (WAVES) is devoted to Nebraskans who are engaged in water management, interested in how water moves through watersheds and aquifers, and who are looking for the latest water research stories.

NFarms

NFarms is a University of Nebraska-Lincoln initiative to pioneer innovative digitized agricultural tools, strategies, and collaborations. Extension and education are critical components of NFarms' efforts to share our experiences with stakeholders. Traditional and innovative outreach activities will be utilized to reach broad audiences well beyond Nebraska.

Nonprofit in Residence
University of Nebraska—Lincoln
In 2021, the Nonprofit in Residence event was developed to invite nonprofits to set up a booth in the Nebraska Union during the last week of the month from 11 am to 1 pm. The program allows us to inform students about a specific social issue and connect them with nonprofits where they can intern and volunteer. Initially, when we held the volunteer fair, we would see only 25 nonprofits attend, and around 100 students visit. Through the transition, we partner with five nonprofits monthly and engage 100 nonprofits over the academic year. In addition, this event is facilitated by students inside the Husker Nonprofit Coalition.

The Northeast Nebraska Agriculture and Natural Resources Education Compact is the first of its kind in Nebraska. The compact combines the strengths of multiple institutions in the region to meet the education needs of youth and lifelong learners and contribute to workforce and talent development to support economic growth strategies in agriculture and natural resources.

The Nutrition Education Program (NEP) in Nebraska helps families on a limited budget make healthier food choices and choose physically active lifestyles by acquiring the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behavior changes necessary to improve their health. NEP is free to all participants who meet income guidelines.

The Nutrition School Enrichment Kit (SEK) Program brings nutrition education to Nebraska’s K-5 students through engaging lessons led by teachers. Each kit includes lesson plans, handouts, visual aids, games, and family newsletters, making it easy to integrate into the classroom.

Osher Life Long Learning Institute (OLLI)

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is a membership-based lifelong learning program for adults 50 years plus. OLLI offers non-credit courses, lectures, events, and travel opportunities. There are no tests and no grades. OLLI is about the love of learning.

Panhandle Research, Extension, and Education Center

Located in Scottsbluff, this facility houses 13 faculty of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR). Studies in sheep, swine, dairy, and beef production, in addition to many other crop areas. Offers field days for ag producers and field trips for students.
