A select group of students participate as members of the Civic Engagement Leadership Team (CELT). The purpose of CELT is to provide leadership assistance for the University community. Today we find an increase in the leadership needs and demands of students, student groups, clubs and organizations.
CELT members are educated on foundational principles of leadership, including theories, models, techniques and skills. They also learn how to present and facilitate groups to reach identified outcomes.
Examples for using CELT include:
- officers of an organization wanting assistance with officer transition;
- resident hall or Greek living unit wanting information on team building; and
- college advisory board wanting assistance with recruiting and retaining members.
If you are interested in becoming a member of CELT or would like to have CELT assist you or your student group, please contact Center for Civic Engagement.
