Extension Educator, Advocate for Agriculture with a strong passion for the beef community and is committed to build consumer confidence in the food system (production, processing, distribution, consumption and waste management). I am currently the Director of Beef Quality Assurance and Extension Educator at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the Animal Science Department. Prior to UNL, I taught Animal Science and Agriculture Business at Eastern Wyoming College. In addition to his teaching role, he also coached the EWC Livestock Judging Teams. Extensive agriculture background being raised on a diversified cow/calf, feeding and farming operation in Bayard, Nebraska is valuable attribute. Prior to joining EWC, I also worked as an Extension Educator with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for a total of ten years with emphasis in beef cattle production, technology, and youth livestock programs. I also spent four years on the management team of a 30,000 head commercial cattle feedyard in Colorado and five years in agriculture sales with livestock feed and beef cattle genetics. Committed to teaching livestock evaluation, I continue to judge numerous local, regional and national livestock shows. My opportunities to learn about international agriculture through agriculture study travel to China and South Korea, plus the opportunity to teach veterinarian, college professor and producers about livestock evaluation in Kenya are incorporated in my teaching style. I work to incorporate background, education and experiences into my teaching style. I believe in developing agriculture’s future leaders through strong education and lifelong learning
